The moment you enter that gates at Pedregal, you know you’ve arrived at someplace special. The resort is a uber luxury high-end resort located at the southernmost tip of Mexico’s Baja Peninsula.

Imagine closing your eyes and hearing the sweet serenade of ocean waves while being bathed in warm honey sunlight, then imagine being serviced by staff so attentive you’d think you brought them with you. That is the Resort at Pedregal.

Upon arriving, we were ushered through a tunnel carved out of the mountain. We were promptly met by staff to relieve us of our luggage and belongings and then they escorted us to the receiving team.

We stayed in a deluxe king room with an ocean view. The room was oversized with a large opening leading out to the balcony and private plunge pool. The bathroom was open with a unique open shower space with a rainfall showerhead.

It seems they thought of every convenience as they provided binoculars for whale watching, a Bluetooth speaker system, umbrellas, robes, and slippers. The staff also brought some tequila in a special take-home bottle and nuts.

The room had a traditional artistic feel to it. There were so many nice touches in the room including all the dimmable lighting to the artwork on the walls. There wasn’t a corner of the room left undesigned or thought through.

The daily freshly made guacamole and chips were amazing! And they were delivered right to your room.

From our room, we could see straight out to the ocean and most of the resort from the third floor. Although the balcony was open, it felt as if you had some privacy.

The resort had two large infinity pools overlooking the ocean one with a swim-up bar.

The location was premium and just a ten-minute walk to the marina where you can score very inexpensive locale fare.

The onsite restaurants were reasonably priced, but the food was world class. One evening, while dining at their Don Manuel’s restaurant, I asked the chef if he could make a special dinner, not on the menu. Not only did he whip it up without hesitation they were some of the best seafood enchiladas I ever had. A nice touch was the backlit menus that illuminated a soft glow in the night.

El Farallon is another onsite restaurant and sits high on the mountain bluff right over the ocean. It’s a spectacular sunset dining experience. They also offer private in-room dining upon request.

The Marina in Cabo offers food, shopping, and tours. Again, only ten minutes away from the resort we visited almost every day. Although we didn’t do any formal tours, we did rent a boat for a couple of eyes to hit some snorkel spots and see lands end.

The beach stretched for miles past several other resorts. The ocean was not swimmable when we went, but I was okay with this because I love the sound of violent oceans waves. And the beach did not disappoint. I sat on the beach and in the pool for hours listening to the waves crash against the nearby cliffs.

The spa was so exceptional it deserves a separate review here.

The Sum Up

As our driver drove off toward the resort exit at least ten staff members stood in the background waving goodbye. They even sent us off with some homemade cookies for the ride.

The Resort at Pedregal is the epitome of romance, luxury, and pampering. There are few words to describe the indulgent experience, because of this it has earned a coveted  lover’s score of a perfect five hearts.
